I have no motivation to post because I don't think anyone reads this, but if I posted more, they'd read it...nasty vicious cycle. heh.

Woo hoo! I got an A- on my sewing and art tests, a B+ on my psych test, and I dunno how I did on my religion test yet, but I think I did well. I'll find out tomorrow.

gaaah my fashion industries class continues to make me want to rip my hair out. the teacher is obnoxious and so is her assistant (a senior student). The assistant was giving a presentation on Tuesday and is talking about the different kinds of trade publications - she proceeds to talk about consumer trade publications, like Vogue and Elle.

"And if you don't read these magazines cover to cover every time they come out, you are in the WRONG major. These should be your BIBLE!"

two slides later, she misspelled "you're".

hey lady...maybe you should stop reading Vogue so much and start reading the dictionary. because it's kind of pathetic when a COLLEGE SENIOR is making the same mistake I see sixteen year olds (who should also know better) on myspace making. GIVE ME A BREAK.

Then at the end of class she starts going on about how if we're making a bad grade in the class, we're pathetic and "should just drop out of college now, because this is the easiest class you'll EVER take".

Nice.

Umm. I had more but I forgot, I should probably go to bed, haha. This is all you guys get for now!

GAHHHHHH.

classes today were rather rant inducing.

I had to get up WAY early for markup at HT - had to be there by eight, which put me at getting up at 6:45, which for crying out loud is earlier than I've been up in MONTHS. I couldn't sleep, so I didn't get to sleep 'til 2:30 or so, which is only about an hour or so later than I normally go to bed, but usually I'm waking up at like...ten or eleven, not six, haha.

I go to Psych class, and sat at the other side of the room because I wanted to sit by Carly, my friend from that class, but she got there late so I ended up talking to some random girl named Sarah, she was really nice. There were these people behind us who talked THE WHOLE FREAKIN' CLASS. I was tired and cranky and fighting to listen to the professor and not fall asleep anyways, and these idiots behind me are whispering about "so then I said and then she said and then he was like and I was like, aw hell no". I lean over to Sarah "...do the people behind you always talk this much?" "yeah. sometimes they're worse. it's pretty obnoxious." once class gets over, I'm like "holy crap. I wanted to turn around and say 'hey you know what guys, that's real cool and all, but I came to class for a reason and it was NOT to listen to you talk!' "...Sarah thought I should have hahaha.

Anyways. So I'm wanting to skip my fashion industry class and just go take a nap, but I don't. Even though I hate that class because almost all of the girls are bitches (also clones, seriously there are like...two haircuts throughout the entire class, and maybe four girls out of a hundred who don't have one of the two?), and it's completely stupid, the annoying teacher just ends up talking about 'how things are in the industry'. But I ignore my shoulder devil and go to class anyways.

Most of the class was a representative from the Buckle talking about how we should work there.

WTF MATE.

'cause I totally love the fact that I am PAYING to be advertised to. but that is not the end of my rant...at the beginning before he really got into it, he's like "I bet there's a lot of girls who work at retail here. Raise your hand if you work retail." Probably 10-15 girls in the class raise their hands, me included. He points at some random girl at the other side of the room, asks her who she works for, and kind of keeps pointing in general areas and has people shout out where they work. He gets to my side of the room, everyone shouts out where they work at, including me, he acknowledges the other girls but ignores me. Ok. I can deal, whatevs.

Then in the middle of the presentation, he's all "And a great thing in working at management in the Buckle is that we have a very boutique-like atmosphere, and the way management is set up, it's really very much like owning your own boutique. The difference though, is that our prices are better than boutiques because since we're a large company, we can get things for 10-15% cheaper than small businesses, so people will shop with us more."

Yeah okay. Your stunning people skills blew me over before, now you're talking about how you take customers from small businesses because you have the advantage since you're a large company. That TOTALLY makes me feel better about this whole, being advertised to in class thing.

I don't know. It just got on my nerves. I guess something like the Buckle would appeal to a lot of the girls, but shit, can't we at least do something that has some form of creativity instead of a big chain that just spits out the latest trends? I'd much rather listen to an actual boutique owner instead of that.

Then after he finishes, we had a presentation from a FACS teacher after that, about teaching and blah. And again, I'm probably just tired and cranky, but at some point she starts talking about how FACS is about the family unit and how people would be better off if problems were fixed beforehand...? thinking back, I'm not sure at all how she got on this topic, I was drifting in and out, but she was talking about how family units are dysfunctional more in modern times and rawr rawr rawr. and like I said, reading too much into it I'm sure, but talk like that makes me uncomfortable because it's usually the same people who're saying that unless it's the average suburban family with 2.5 kids, a white picket fence, and a stay at home soccer mom then it's an unhealthy dysfunctional family. And if I ever decide to have kids, it'll probably be NOTHING like that, not to mention that's usually the line of thinking that leads to homophobia.

I dunno. I'm cranky and frustrated and I honestly thought the whole pushing...what's the word I'm looking for? less strong and with less baggage than propaganda, but essentially that, would be done with high school. I hate hate hate it. Especially my fashion classes - I know what I want to do, but the thought of putting up with this CRAP makes me wonder if it's really necessary. urgh.

but anyways. Last Thursday I dyed Carly's hair. It turned out amazing if I do say so myself.

black on the underlayer and neon red on top. haha, I need to start charging. :P

yeeeaah...

I set up an interview at Pac Sun for Wednesday at three.

Everyone at Shake's was way rude to me today. and another new girl was getting the same treatment I was (especially from the girl who was WAY rude to me and kept treating me like an idiot, both days). And they expect you to be on call almost any day you're off but don't pay you for it, expect you to keep your plans free.

Sorry...no thanks!

Cross your fingers that I get the job at PS so I can quit there!

sooo...last week (as in, the week that ended a week ago) was a very very bad week, for various reasons, including Heath totally blowing me off when we were supposed to hang out. for no apparent reason, that was over a week ago and I still haven't heard from him. Reeeally pissed me off. Of course, the fact that I was pissed off probably had something to do with the fact that the day before (we were supposed to go out on Friday), this chick from work wouldn't stop texting me during school, trying to get me to cover for her. I was like, "I have plans, did you ask everyone else?" "Yes and nobody can do it, I'm out of town and I won't be back in town until after I'm supposed to be at work."

Uhuh. We only work two freakin' days a week, you dipshit, how hard is it to ACTUALLY WORK ON THOSE DAYS? It's not like we don't know our schedule three weeks ahead of time!

So I call Heath and we rescheduled for Saturday instead of Friday. And she comes in Saturday while I'm at work, and doesn't even say thank-you to me ("Oh, hi Taunie!" "Hi." *she walks to the other end of the room and stands by Amy, completely ignoring me*). Then she quit, and said something to Amy that really pissed her off, which I didn't find out until yesterday. Apparently she was trying to tell Amy that Jake(another coworker) and I were lying about how she tried to get us to cover for her? or something? and Amy told her that she knew that wasn't true, so Taunie tried to pull "Oh, well I do SO MUCH around here". "Yeah, you are a good worker, and that means you get good hours, but it doesn't mean that you get to do whatever you want." And then she quit. Good freakin' riddance, she always talked down to me anyways.

Speaking of which, today I started at Shake's (yay for a second job...blech) and while it was FREAKING CRAZY BUSY, it wasn't too hard. There was this one girl who treated me like I have less braincells than a brick or something, and it was REALLY starting to piss me off, but by the time I was about to blow up on her, I only had 30 minutes or so left. Then the manager asked me to go to Wal-Mart to get some more bananas (seven bunches, I got some funny looks haha) and said when I got back from that I could go ahead and clock out. I had taken my Shake's shirt off in the car because I was wearing two tank tops under it and it is just too hot outside for that. I get back, put up the bananas, and I start making the concrete I paid for earlier, for my mom, and the aforementioned chick walks over to me and goes "Uh, you need to put your apron and hat back on. You're going to get in TROUBLE." "Actually, she said after I brought the bananas in, I could clock out, I'm just making this concrete for my mom that I paid for earlier." Which shut her up really fast. Ugh. I hope I don't have to work with her too often.

only two months, only two months, only two months...

siiiigh

and in their handbook, it says natural colored makeup only. although I dunno how strictly they enforce it, since I was wearing bright shimmery orange eyeshadow today and nobody said anything, but still, that could suck hardcore...I don't even know how many natural colors of makeup I OWN, hahaha.

speaking of 'only'...

ONLY THREE AND A HALF DAYS OF SCHOOL sweet action!

I am angry.

So the flyers for the show tonight all said 7:30. I get there at 7:45 and there's no sign of anyone even setting up. Me and Jess are like, yeah, okay, whatever, we hang around...nobody even goes on stage until 8:30. No biggie, right?

They play for 30 minutes, they weren't particularly impressive. I mean...technically they sounded good, but they didn't really have a great live vibe. And then they get off the stage around nine or a little bit after. The next band didn't get on the stage until after right after ten freaking thirty! What the hell is that?! it doesn't take an hour and a half to set up the stage!!! So I ended up leaving before they were even done, because I was tired and had to be home around 11:30. I didn't even get to see the two paids I paid freakin' money to see, and I sat there for 3 1/2 hours to see two thirty minute sets of crappy bands. Not to mention the cigarette smoke was bad enough that my throat's going to be sore for days. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR

The good news is that I put my eyeshadow on at 8:30 this morning and it still looked fine until I washed it out 15 minutes ago. That's 15 hours! a record!

Anyways. The book signing went pretty well; it wasn't as big as the Small Town News one, but we figured that that was because STN was about actual events and DM wasn't. It was good fun anyways, hanging around and talking to people, except for this one guy at the end who was pretty rude. Started asking Mr. Turner if he walked with Jesus and yada yada...and I just...I mean, I know most people like that have the best intentions, but for crying out loud, you wouldn't walk up to someone and go "Hey, so what sexual orientation are you? Really, and how many partners have you had? Any STDs?"...so why would you ask them about something just as personal. Especially someone you DON'T KNOW. Sheesh. Mr. T handled it better than I would have anyways.

I think I'm a magazine addict...the list of magazines I buy on a semi-regular basis is now:
Razorcake
AMP (still subscribed, but I definitely won't be renewing my subscription, they've gone way downhill)
Crochet!
Crochet Today
Knit.1
Venus
Bust
Nylon

Sheesh. and yes, this is relevant - I bought the newest issues of Venus and Bust today. I think I might subscribe to at least one of them once I have the money...Bust is a good all-around thing, most of the time, and I *love* Venus even though I'm not big on their music picks...they have a decent DIY section. I need to subscribe to Nylon sometime too...but I think their yearly subscription is only $10 (which is a damn good buy considering as how it's like $4 in stores, it comes out either every month or every other month). And Razorcake. Haha. So yeah, everyone, if you want to buy me birthday presents...right there, baby.

I also bought Walden. Something I've been meaning to do for a while. Plus I'm sure I'll feel all totally philosophical and deep carrying it around, haha.

And I REALLY want this book called Fresh Fruits that's basically like 200ish pages of photographs of Japanese street fashion...I flipped through it and it would be GREAT for inspiration. It was like $30 at Hastings but it's only $20 at Amazon.com...or maybe I can find a copy at half.com or ebay. *makes note to check*

I'm starting a new blog, first post should be today or tomorrow. It's a crafty-type blog...but more just how to make the stuff I do (not exactly patterns, as I don't write it down stitch by stitch or anything, but more like...instructions, tips/tricks, etc.) than my crafty exploits. Like I was telling Alicia and Mr. T, I think part of the reason I massively failed at Unwise and Untimely is because my...politics and craftiness and just life are all mixed together, and if I try and separate them I don't have enough to write about any of them. 'Cause they're like spaghetti. Or alfredo. All with the twisty tangliness.

Which is part of the problem I'm having with Wardrobe Refashion, when I go to do my weekly blog post, I just...can't come up with anything. Partly because I picked a REALLY bad time to do this - SO BUSY - and don't have as much time for crafting, and partly because of the aforementioned reason.

But yeah. Tired. So bed. Night!

blah...bad night, bad mood. (warning ya right here: bitchy post ahead) or I guess it wasn't so bad. I don't know. I just get sick of it, all of it, no matter what I don't fit in at all anywhere, everyone else has their cliques and their couples and no matter what I do I can't even hang out with them without feeling like the freak, the third/fifth/umpteenth odd wheel, I don't hardly get along with anyone my age but nobody older is like "whoo, yeah, let's hang out with the kid who's still in high school" (and looking around, I really can't blame them), so here I am, always on the outside, always without anyone, anyone who understands me or gets what I'm saying or can actually accept the fact that hey, every once in a while I want to dress edgy, and not call me a &^$#ing hooker, or give me shit about my clothes, or ANYTHING, I don't even mean boyfriend, just a FRIEND, I'm just sick of all of this...I don't think anyone means to but I always feel like I'm the toilet paper stuck on someone's shoe, as soon as they notice I'm around they try and shake me off, I'm the disposa-friend, hang out with me when *you* want to but if *I* want to do anything, no way jose, and the people that you think listen or care, but no, they just want things from you, which is obvious when they stop talking to you when you make it clear that they aren't getting it, and you thought they were your friend, but nope. I'm just sick of all these people who up and stop talking to me, rubbing salt into that one big wound when you'd think they'd know better, and wondering if I just give off some "hey, treat me like crap, no really, I'll grin and bear it!" vibe or something. I'm sick of everyone's immaturity, I try not to be oversensitive but sometimes people just say these things and I can't take it any way and I get annoyed, yeah sorry, it's not funny when you state the obvious about my eyeshadow or clothes or body features (especially for the fiftieth time in a FREAKING HOUR), and everyone jokes about these and other things and doesn't realize that on the occasions where it doesn't annoy me, it hurts. But maybe I'm just misinterpreting everyone, or being oversensitive. I guess I don't take being blown off very well, even if it was a long time ago...I don't know. And if I'm not being blown off by one person, it's somebody else, in a new and creative way. I'm sick of all of this. And it seems like there's no point in even hoping for anything to change, because it never does. I'm like the kid who's always screwed at musical chairs, haha.

In between work and AQT, my weekend's pretty much blown. as was last weekend. fun shit. I should have just stayed home tonight, because I probably would have gone to bed in a much better mood. brighter note: sold something at my etsy store, the rainbow hat.
